Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving I am thankful for many things:

1.I am thankful that I am alive and healthy
2.I am thankful that my grandma is still living with me right now,she has liver cancer and is currently on hospice.I thank God that she has lasted 3 months after the doctors in the hospital thought she would "die" on August 18.
3.I am thankful that my parents love and care for me.
4.I am thankful that my family is not financially hurt unlike some unfortunate people who have almost nothing right now.
5.I am thankful that I have made friends at Gunderson, originally I dreaded the first day of high school because I would know I would be a loner by not knowing anyone. All of my friends went to either Branham or Leigh so I wanted to go there too.
6.I am thankful for all of the staff at Gunderson, they are pretty cool people.Kind of funny too, half of my teachers remind me of teachers I had at my school last year!XD

Science Fair Project

Science fair projects do actually help "teach" science by having us conduct experiments in which we learn the processes of something new.  When we do science fair projects, we learn from them by doing them.  Certain projects, you learn while you're doing your experiment.  Sometimes, science fair projects don't really "teach" you anything.  If you're doing an experiment where you already know the results, you won't learn anything from doing it.  Learning only applies to science fair projects when you are doing something completely new that you have no idea what the results would be.  Doing something that you already know isn't really conducting an experiment where the outcome is unpredictable to you.

Stem Cell Research

Stem cells are a good thing, they can help people in many different ways. For that woman that needed a new trachea, her own stem cells helped her own body by accepting the new organ. If she had not used her own stem cells, the organ would have been rejected by her body and she would not live a normal life. Also, stem cells can lead to new discoveries for curing diseases. People should keep studying stem cells to find out the other uses for them.
